Harrisburg is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Harrisburg is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Grumpy old guys that don't seem to grasp that they work at a public course and should want new business and treat customers with respect. Flat out rude to my teen boys and charged them for 18 holes and tried to kick them off at 9. Try Manada or Deer Valley before this place if looking for a good time on a public course. Trust the reviews, "mid" (as the kids would say) course at best and rude ignorant staff that make it abundantly clear that they are highly inconvenienced by new players.

Played here early morning Monday 05/25/26 (Memorial Day). After three days of rain and a steady drizzle to start the day, we both felt the course was in awesome shape. Ball was moving really well given the conditions. Front desk staff told us the bunkers were in the process of being changed to grass bunkers (so no need for a photo shoot in our review). I’ve played here twice and haven’t had an issue, have a feeling the ones who complain about the owner are asking for it. Saw approximately 20 deer and a few turkeys, was a really awesome morning to start the holiday.

This is the worst golf course I've played in the area the bunkers are the worst I've seen. The staff is incredibly rude and for $42 I expect a lot more! Don't even bother playing this course will never be back. Anybody that rates this a five star is lying

The most disappointing round of this decade by far greens are fair for the price of 45 dollars. Bunkers are just grass with some sand sprinkled in. The mowers are at best noise and at worst repulsive. Marshalls are out in force. God forbid you have friends who don’t golf with you, the earful you’ll receive is enough for the next 2 thanksgiving’s.

**Sportsman's Golf Course Review: 5/5 Stars** My girlfriend and I had an absolute blast at Sportsman's Golf Course last weekend—it's the kind of place that hooks you from the first tee. The layout is top-notch: impeccably manicured fairways, strategic bunkering, and greens that roll true but punish any lapse in focus. It's challenging enough to keep skilled players engaged, yet forgiving for mid-handicappers like us, with multiple tee options and wide landing zones on par 4s that let you attack without constant fear. What elevated the round from great to memorable, though? The ranger, Court. This handsome guy with the most charming Southern drawl rolled up in his cart mid-round just as we were dying of thirst—our water bottles were bone dry in the midday heat. Without missing a beat, he grabbed them, zipped off to the clubhouse, and returned them ice-cold and full. Class act, zero fuss. Come for the pristine golf, stay for Court. Pace of play was solid (4 hours for our twosome), carts were in great shape, and the staff overall couldn't have been friendlier. Minor nitpick: pro shop selection is basic, but who cares when the course is this good? We'll be back soon—highly recommend
